Why Hindu married women wear toe ring ??
Indian women have had a toe ring placed on them by their husband's family during the Hindu wedding ceremony for hundreds of years, just like Western marriage ceremonies use a wedding ring on a woman’s left hand ring finger.
In Hindu families today, the tradition remains that only a married Hindu woman may wear a toe ring.
The toe ring is symbolic for a Hindu married woman, and is always made of silver, which is said to contribute to a healthy pregnancy when the woman conceives. Because it stimulates veins connecting to the uterus.
It is also a sign of respect to the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi that gold rings are never worn on the toes. The silver toe ring is always placed on the toe next to the big toe, and can be a simple, thin band or a wide, elaborately etched and braided toe ring.
So the next time you slip a few toe rings on and look down to admire how attractive they make your feet look...

What is Astrology? How does Astrology work?
How can I benefit from Astrology?
Astrology is one of the most profound Sacred Sciences known to man. Since the dawn of civilization the stars and planets have been used as celestial guides for human affairs. Surely none other than the Infinite One could have created something with such unfathomable depth, complexity, and beauty. Some of the most brilliant minds of all time have openly endorsed the incredible wisdom that speaks to us through the majestic movements of these ancient powers.
For millennia covert efforts to keep the power of Astrology concentrated in the hands of the few has existed, but now, as we rapidly approach the Age of Aquarius and mankind's Golden Age, the time has come for all people to understand and benefit from one of God's most wondrous creations. In an ideal world everyone would have an intimate understanding of their own birth chart and the impact that the transiting planets had on not only their lives, but on all lives. With this understanding Earth's citizens could all live in alignment with their highest potentials and work collaboratively to advance our civilization in the most magnificent ways imaginable.
Astrology is a glorious and beautiful harmonization of science and spirit. By using the Earth's orbit around the Sun as a fixed reference point and through precise astronomical plotting of planetary movements, people can understand, with remarkable accuracy, the highest spiritual meanings and most practical physical potentials that synchronize with celestial events. The 'map' against which one superimposes this extremely precise scientific data is the birth or natal chart. The birth chart, which everyone has, is essentially a snapshot of the heavens at the moment of birth. The locations and aspects of the Sun, Moon, and planets mysteriously reveal the nature and purpose of one's life. By comparison of the birth chart with impending planetary movements, one can, either by themselves or with the assistance of a gifted Astrologer, peer into their future. The ramifications of a person having this type of information goes beyond measure; this is power of the most unique and extraordinary kind, and thus, the reason why it has been cloaked and coveted for so long.
The value of Astrology transcends mundane concerns and is a priceless treasure for all mankind to share. Astrology can reveal one's life purpose, one's ascension path, and provide tremendous clarity on all matters of love, family, health, career, finance, education, experience, and of course, spirit. It offers solutions to life's most difficult, seemingly hopeless challenges as well as revealing pathways to manifesting abundance and success at spectacular levels. It empowers individuals by helping them understand their inherent strengths and potentials that they may embrace and develop them with vigor. Unlike anything else, it imbues clarity, purpose, hope, and optimism for the spiritual seekers of the world that their lives become illuminated and that they may become a vibrant, unique, yet integral part of the human family. There is nothing hidden under the heavens and nothing that one can't understand through the luminous lens of Astrology.

Astrology is as old as Vedas themselves. The Vedas which are the sacred Hindu scriptures, embody eternal knowledge. Strict moral and spiritual practices along with the deep study are prerequisities to understand the essence of Vedas. To the uninitiated, the Vedas might appear as nothing more than ritualistic oblations to air, water and thunder etc. Deep truths, however begin to unfold to the true seeker as his search goes on. |
In time of yore, sincere seekers of truth and knowledge in India used to spend years and years at the feet of their 'gurus', learning the meaning hidden in Vedas. In order to decipher what lies concealed in Vedas, a study of certain subjects is considered a prerequisite. These subjects are called the 'Vedangas' or the body organs of the Vedas. There are six such vedangas. They are : |
(A) Shiksha : Which deals with the understanding of the Vedic 'Varanas', 'Swaras' and Mantras, and thus with the technique of correct pronunciation. |
(B) Chhanda : Dealing with the appropriate lyrical utterance of the Vedic 'Suktas'. |
(C) Vyakarana : Expouding the grammatical aspects of the language. |
(D) Nirukta : Which explains the difficult words, 'padas' and 'mantras'. |
(E) Kalpa : Dealing with the understanding of Sutras and the use of Mantras, hence concerned with the ritualistic aspects of the Vedas. |
(F) Jyotisha or Astrology : Of the body called the Vedas, astrology represents the 'eyes' with its capacity to see the past, the present and the future. Astrology is considered as the most important of the Vedangas. |
